My Grandpa

Well this has been a rough week! We lost my Grandpa Monday January 28th... On my Dad's birthday. My Grandpa was a very big gentle man with a smile on his face most of the time. I spent 70% of my childhood around my Grandpa. We were always at his farm as kids, or he was sitting at our kitchen table with a big glass of tea at his side.

My Grandpa had not been doing very well the last few years and so we knew his time was getting shorter, but no one ever wants to let that soak in too deep. He passed away in his home with my Dad and Grandma at his side with no pain. That is the best way I could have thought for Grandpa to go.

So as we plan for the furneral, I did what I love best, prepaired photo's for his funeral. As I am going through old pictures and fixing tears, touching up and resizing I get an idea... I thought of taking my Grandpa's farm as a background and adding a beautiful sky with his Silhouette in the sky. It turned out more beautiful than I imagined.

I am so Thankful for my memories of my Grandpa!!! He will always be remembered in so many ways!

New Bedroom outfits

I purchased my girls new bedroom furniture and bedding in December. Last week it came in for delivery, so I had to clean out the old to get ready for the new the evening before. It was a very long evening... so when the delivery guys showed up the next day my first words were "If you don't curse, you will when you're done with this move" The rooms are upstairs, with a tight stairway as you make your way up there.

When I purchased this furniture it was on an order basis, I didn't see the furniture. Craig asked me about the size of the furniture and my reply was "I am not sure" The girls have shorter ceilings than an average room, so I started to sweat it a little bit! Trying not to sweat too much infront of him!!

As it was being delivered, it was just as expected for the move up those stairs! Lots of re-tries and re-do's! Everything made it up there with just inches away from the ceiling! Except Kasey's armoire... finally after taking it apart and rebuilding it upstairs, it all came together. Until... we tried to put the mirrors on the dressers :( They didn't fit... so we ended up screwing the mirrors to the wall and just putting the dressers up against them. Their rooms turned out so nice!!!

Here is Kasey's room: She picked out a really dark Cherry.. She is the one with the armoire to stay!!!

This is Amber's room: Her head board isn't in yet. Her Armoire came in 2 seperate parts, so her move wasn't quite as bad.
